2nd Annual Marines Helping Marines Tournament

The 2nd annual Marines Helping Marines Fishing Tournament was held June 26 at Lake Hopatcong, NJ and while not in attendance, Mike Swick and Combat Life were still able to lend their support.

The bass fishing contest paired wounded veterans from both Bethesda and Walter Reed hospitals up with professional anglers in a tournament to raise money for the 501(c)3 charity Marines Helping Marines which helps wounded military members and their families in time of need.

In all, nine wounded Marines competed in the event alongside over 50 other competitors, with 28 boats on the water. Over 100 people attended the festivities after the tournament concluded helping to raise money for the cause.

I personally contacted Mike Swick and Combat Life to see if Mike would be interested in fishing the tournament for this great cause. “Quick” showed a significant interest in the event and cause but due to scheduling conflicts could not attend. When autographed shirts showed up on my doorstep, I knew Swick truly was a supporter of the Armed Forces and those who sacrificed so much for this Country.

The Marines had no reservations in thanking Swick as they all donned the shirts and expressed their wish that Swick be able to attend next year.

I personally want to thank Mike for his support as do the Marines. Mike, thank you looking forward to seeing you next year.

Mike Embarks On Longest Military Tour Yet

Mike, is currently on a Military support tour which spans through Africa, Europe and the Middle East. He printed all new Combat Life "World Tour" shirts to hand out and left plenty here for you guys! For every order of 2 items or more, we will ship out a free "Combat Life World Tour - Support Our Troops" shirt as well as an autographed promo card. Combat Life Is Officially For SALE!

Combat Life Brand was founded in 2008 by UFC welterweight fighter Mike "Quick" Swick. After his first visit to Walter Reed Military Hospital, Mike decided to start printing shirts and caps to hand out to our wounded troops.

Over the next year and a half he printed his line at various print shops and gave away his product to servicemen around the world. To help fund this project he started doing custom orders. In late 2009, Mike founded Spartan Screen Printing Inc. to exclusively print and house Combat Life Brand Inc.

"I started this company because of how the Military responded to me giving them shirts. I was amazed and humbled by the appreciative reaction. A simple free shirt can mean so much to a wounded warrior laying on a military hospital bed. Our goal is to sell enough to be able to continue giving these out and create opportunities for the troops themselves. We as fighters get all the glamour and fame and we don't do half of what these guys on the front lines do. They support us with everything they have then come home and get no appreciation for what they have sacrificed. Its disturbing to me. I wanna change that."
